The Most Important Aspect of ... the Spiritual Pathway May Just Be To Keep Moving.” Pema Chödrön

This quote reminds me of my recent work with a client, Andrea. Two years ago Andrea’s daughter, Willow, with whom she had been very close, ended their relationship abruptly. Willow’s partner, whose own unresolved trauma is the basis of his addictions, threatened to break up with Willow if she maintained the close relationship with her mother. Willow herself had been sexually abused as a child by her stepfather.

After we cleared patterns - those underlying the grief, ancestral and timeline patterns, I worked with Andrea on imaging herself in motion, literally and metaphorically. She couldn’t visualize swimming again though she has enjoyed it since college. Since she lives on a lake, loves the outdoors and enjoys bird watching, we discussed gentle walks around the lake.

Andrea shared last week that she is gaining a greater sense of all the parts of her Self and feels more in touch with them than when she felt frozen with grief. Although she is still aware of the sadness from the loss of her relationship with Willow, she is engaging with friends and sleeping well. She is also noticing how healing it is to keep moving.
